A blogging friend, Claire, took a leap of courage. First, she began a blog, Claire's Art Party, to feature her art. Then, she submitted some of her drawings to Gawker, which is a pretty big site. Now they have posted her work on Gawker Artists.Claire specializes in portraits, and the sensitivity with which she renders the faces of her subjects reminds me of Alice Neel, only softer and, of course, unique to Claire herself.
